Abstract :
Interactive programming using clever look-up tables can cause applications problems. A simple recursive algorithm is described that avoids difficulties by dividing a multiplane frame buffer into logical layers. This separation and restructuring process can be envisioned as a computer graphics analogy to the display of multiple transparencies with an overhead projector.
