  • Abstract
The author considers the question "do we in the IEEE AP-S have a problem with arrogance?" Maybe it is arrogant to think that we don??t have a problem. We??ve heard a lot about the arrogance of NASA that has led to several disasters. Sumit Ghosh said "Logically, the onset of arrogance is likely to cause an individual or organization to he consumed by greed, acquire a false senile of invincibility to criticism, ignore good advice from experts and thoughtful peers, lose open mindedness, and become blind to reality." ("Humbleness as a Practical Vehicle for Engineering Ethics Education," IEEE Fronriers in Educarion 2002, 3, pp. 6-9). Arrogance can blind the best of people from reality.
