Abstract :
A visual communication system for an apartment house where fiber optics is used is presented. It offers a variety of services such as video mail, camera door phones, and video telephones in the apartment house. This system is mainly composed of three parts: digital loop network and analog video bus, apartment house controller, and apartment outlets. The system design, the call control procedures, and several examples of visual services offered by this system are described
