Abstract :
We report transmission of 10-Gb/s nonreturn-to-zero (NRZ) signals over 200-km conventional single-mode fiber without any dispersion compensation by using a bias control technique that involves simultaneous change of the /spl alpha/ parameter of an LiNbO/sub 3/ modulator and the extinction ratio. This is the longest transmission distance for 10-Gb/s NRZ binary signals without any dispersion compensation.
