Abstract :
The characteristic function of a new class of sharp-cutoff filters is derived in closed form. The magnitude response of these filters has the same transition bandwidth as the elliptic filters, and its attenuation poles can easily be adjusted to produce either equal-ripple or general stopband attenuation.
