Abstract :
Fast frequency modulation of millimetric radiation in an open resonator is described. The frequency variation is obtained by means of a lumped electrically variable external reactance. The maximum modulation depth obtained is 30 kHz peak-peak. The possible applications to far-infrared lasers modulation are discussed.
