Abstract :
In a p.l.l. frequency synthesiser with a wide-range varactor-tuned oscillator, the proportional path gain can be made nearly constant by the split-loop method. Good dynamic performance is then maintained over the range despite any integral-path gain variation caused by a nonlinear varactor capacitance law.
