Abstract :
A novel scheme for generating a comb of precisely known optical frequency markers with kilohertz accuracy over a 10-THz span is proposed. Based on the use of optical parametric oscillator frequency dividers, the method provides absolute frequency identification in a dense fiber-based optical communication network.<>
