Abstract :
The effect of coplanar parasitic patches on the input impedance and far-field pattern of probe-fed cylindrical rectangular microstrip antennas is presented. The parasitic patches are coupled parallel to either the radiating edges or nonradiating edges of the driven patch. Applying the boundary condition on the surface of the patches, coupled integral equations are formulated. The equations involve the spectral domain Green´s functions of a dielectric coated metallic cylinder and unknown electric current of the patches. The Galerkin procedure on an entire-domain basis is employed to solve the coupled integral equations. The interactions among patches through the space wave as well as the surface wave are incorporated. Input impedance and far-field pattern are computed for different size of cylinder and distance among the patches
