Abstract
The effect of a low moisture content on the dielectric properties of dust particles is investigated at X-band. It is found that the effect of a water content as low as 4.3% is to increase the real part of the dielectric constant by 25% and the imaginary part by more than 100%. This information is useful in the prediction of microwave attenuation during dust storms.
