Abstract :
The modulating waveforms for the VHF omnirange (VOR) and instrument landing system (ILS) radio-navigation systems can be generated and demodulated digitally. A computer simulation has given the magnitude of the major error associated with digital methods-namely quantization error. Digital techniques are applicable to the airborne reception and ground monitoring of signals from these systems.
