Abstract
A point-to-point, half-duplex link communication protocol for general telemetry applications that demand high reliability regarding information loss or distortion was developed. Despite its mentioned reliability, the protocol is based on a restricted set of rules, ideal for low-cost systems requiring little hardware. A controlled flow presenting no data loss or sequential data repetition was obtained with the inclusion of only 1 bit in the header of each packet for flow control. The most common applications of this protocol would be monitoring and control of medical devices, telemetry, and remote control in applications with low tolerance to failure.
