Abstract :
The authors focus on CYMSTAB-UDM, a transient stability program that was designed to circumvent the restrictions associated with library-based simulation tools. Equipment libraries were kept available to the program, while at the same time allowing the user to carry out simulations using novel control strategies. Principles of implementation and the user interface of this approach are briefly described, and two successful applications are highlighted.<>
