Abstract :
The application of various-order Padé approximants to the ideal delay function e¿¿s is presented. The relationship between Padé approximants and Lagrange´s continued-fraction expansion as applied to e¿¿s is examined. The unit step response of e¿¿s is examined with emphasis on the risetime/delay-time ratio and the percentage peak overshoot and undershoot.
