Abstract :
The second-harmonic generation efficiency in II-VI compound semiconductors at 77 K under high-field condition has been calculated using a nonlinear analytical approximation for the velocity-field characteristics. It is found that the harmonic generation efficiencies are considerably higher than the corresponding values for elemental semiconductors.
