Abstract :
In this paper, a new formulation of the probabilities of detection and false alarm for a class of cyclic-feature detectors known as single-cycle detectors is derived for additive white Gaussian noise channels. As opposed to previously published papers, the formulation derived here is non-asymptotic, being valid for any signal-to-noise ratio value. Additionally, the proposed formulation is general, allowing for the analysis of the single-cycle detection performance for any modulation scheme and any cycle frequency.
