Abstract :
Several methods to prepare superconducting lithium titanate are described. Material characterization has been performed by optical metallography and powder x-ray diffraction technique. The critical temperature, Tcand critical current density, Jc, (as a function of the applied field H up to 7.0 T) have been measured. In our specimens Tc≈ 11.4 K, Hc2(4.2 K) > 7.0 T and Jc< 107Am-2. Possible methods to increase Jcin this material are discussed.
