Abstract :
A method for the reduction of radiated electromagnetic interference (EMI) from a rectangular D Subminiature connector is described. The approach discussed relies upon the addition of a shielded backshell, a cable strain relief, shell grounding members, and an insulated housing. These additions are adaptable to most installations where shielded cable is terminated to this style connector. The benefits derived are effective in managing spurious radiated emissions.
