Abstract :
The author\´s attention has been directed to certain novel points in connection with the conductivity of several melted metallic salts and to the variation in conductivity caused by alternating currents ("electric oscillations"). The observations were made on the following salts: Chlorid of lead, chlorid of thallium, bromid of cadmium, chlorid of silver, bromid of silver, iodid of silver, acetate of silver. All the observations were made on salts which were in the solid state; that is, salts which were first melted and then cooled nearly to solidification. In the present state of our knowledge, any attempts at an explanation seem premature. It will be seen that the salts investigated fall in widely different classes.
