Abstract :
Theory of homogeneous filter is developed. Results are employed to analyze tests made with SS430 fiber metal or stainless steel wool matrices. As regards filter efficiency, the experiments seem to disagree with particle trajectory models quantitatively but show agreement with the creeping flow model qualitatively. The method used is extended from laboratory to field experiments.
