Abstract :
Audio heads made of Fe-Si-Al alloy head cores by a squeeze casting were newly developed. The heads had merits of a low noise and a small distortion. A head wear of the squeeze cast alloy heads was reduced to 1/5 of that of conventional Fe-Si-Al alloy heads and was noted to be comparable to that of ferrite heads. Squeeze cast alloys (SCA) had magnetic properties of : \\mu \\geq 10,000 at 1 KHz (thickness of 150 μm) before and after molding cores in a resin, H_{c}\\leq0.03 Oe and B_{10}\\geq 8000 G.
