Abstract :
Image-cancelling mixers are a form of image-recovery mixer that avoid the use of a high-Q factor tuned input circuit. Two identical mixers are pumped in quadrature, and their input circuits are connected to cancel the image current or voltage. Results on double-balanced mixers operating at 2 GHz are presented, and a conversion loss of about 1 dB is obtained.
