Abstract :
A simple, effective and inexpensive circuit for computing the phasor sum of two perpendicular vectors is described. Basically, it relies on exploiting the orthogonal property of trigonometric functions to carry out the computation. Being discrete in nature, the technique is particularly suitable for instrumentation and sampled-data control applications.
