            Abstract :
This paper discusses a multistage sintering process for the fabrication of low porosity MnZn ferrite. For the composition (in mole percent) Fe2O3, 52; MnO, 25; ZnO, 23 porosities <1% were obtainable with magnetic properties at 3.2 MHz of 1076 (u\´), 1520 (u") and induction of 3588 G (B10). Additionally, for 3330 type recording heads, 55% signal improvement was observed at 3.2 MHz compared to NiZn ferrite.
