Abstract :
The transmission loss of v.a.d. fibres made from various grade raw materials has been studied. It has been found that low loss spectra are obtained in v.a.d. fibre fabricated from the raw material of low grade silicon tetrachloride (99.17%). The transmission loss of the fibre is 0.60 dB/km at 1.55 ¿m.
