Abstract
There is an increasing interest in the so-called dynamic self-consistent iterative calculations to predict flux reversal patterns in magnetic recording. In the literature one can observe a certain amount of incoherence in the choice of approximations and of numerical methods. The effect of some of the usual approximations are investigated in a systematic way and a new approach in the formulation of the problem is introduced which leads to a considerable gain in efficiency.
