Abstract :
The letter describes an adaptive DPCM coding of composite SECAM signals where the nature of the chrominance modulation is entirely different to that of PAL and NTSC. The prediction method is based on the algorithm that the predictor can adapt itself to the frequency variation of the subcarrier. The simulation results demonstrate that this adaptive system has a significant advantage in terms of signal/noise ratio over a nonadaptive system.
