Abstract :
The inductances of microconnectors for Josephson computer packaging have been measured. Evaluation of the microconnector inductances is very important in order to design fast Josephson signal propagation paths. The inductances are measured by a resonance method which gives accurately sub-nil inductances by means of simple resonance circuits introducing known capacitances. Partial inductances without ground pins and loop inductances with a ground pin-to-signal pin ratio of one are measured. The measured partial inductances are compared with the calculated values using the cylinder model and the agreement is good in most cases. The measured loop inductances agree well with the calculated values of the net inductances consisting of the partial inductances. Inductance influences on signal propagation characteristics, such as reflection, delay, and crosstalk are also discussed.
