Abstract :
Transient properties of quench and recovery for long sections of composite superconducting magnet windings are investigated. Parameters determined experimentally are used in a theoretical model to predict voltage vs. time to recover from a temperature perturbation. The theoretical prediction agrees well with experimental simulations.
