Abstract :
A broadband patch antenna fed by a coplanar waveguide (CPW) is presented. The antenna was designed based on the stacked patch technique developed for aperture-coupled patch antennas. It is similar in configuration to a conventional stacked patch antenna, but the lower of its two patches is fed with a conductor-backed CPW Both simulation and measurement show that the antenna has bandwidth of over 10% (for |S11| ≤ -10 dB) centred at 10 GHz.
