Simple switching technique for fast PLL frequency synthesisers

For PLL frequency synthesisers a simple circuit for a deadbeat control strategy is given; with the loop damping removed the initial frequency error is measured over half a cycle of loop oscillation, and then a corrective step of half this is made and the damping replaced.
