Abstract
This paper describes the recent developments at the IEEE-SA as far as power standards approval/revision is concerned. These developments include the approval of the revised standard for power distribution reliability indices and the start of a new standard project for the application of harmonic limits to power standards. IEEE-SA has also approved the start of revision projects to four power standards and reaffirmed the continued use of five existing ones. It also approved a new standard for surge protective equipment for ac rotating machinery rated at 1 kV or greater as well as the start of work on new standards for: distribution and power external fuses; high-voltage, current-limiting motor-starter fuses; and automatic circuit reclosers and fault interrupters.
