Abstract :
A novel range finder composed of a laser, an aperture, a line array sensor, and a microcomputer is presented for accurate measurement of range or elevation of points on an object in real time. Due to its simplicity, ruggedness, and light weight, it can be used for robot applications and elevation contour mapping.
