Abstract :
The authors report the design and realisation of a 2*2 Mach-Zehnder switch based on a single AlGaAs/GaAs heterostructure and indium tin oxide electrodes. The device is characterised by a low switching voltage for TM-modes and low loss. Active separation of TE and TM modes, as well as polarisation independent switching of TE and TM modes.
