Abstract
For the epitaxial films of the (LaSmLu) (GaFe) and the (LaSmTm)(GaFe) garnets, bubble rocking experiments have been performed on as grown films i.e. films without an ion implanted or a specifically grown capping or booting layer. Based on these results, the films studied can be classified into three groups: (1) Films in which only a single bubble state, the S=1, was observed. (2) Films in which at the onset of rocking, multiple bubble states were present but after some time all the bubbles switched to the S=1 state. (3) Films in which multiple bubble states were present at the onset of rocking and persisted under continued rocking for the duration of the measurement, typically 10 minutes or
rocking cycles. Details of wall states, other film properties and growth conditions are discussed.
