Abstract :
This paper describes the production of a wolframite concentrate (Fe, Mn) WO4from a water based slurry of cassiterite (SnO2) ores found in Cornwall, England, using high gradient magnetic separation. The wolframite concentrate, which contains appreciable amounts of tin is treated with MnCl2solution in a magnetic field to further concentrate the wolframite.
