Abstract :
Material-dispersion measurements are reported on fluoride glass for infra-red optical fibres. Bulk glasses prepared by the conventional casting method were measured in the 0.4¿4.3 ¿m wavelength range. Observed zero-material-dispersion wavelengths were 1.62 ¿m for BaF2-GdF3-ZrF4 glass and 1.48 ¿m for BaF2-CaF2-YF3-AlF3 glass.
