Abstract :
Presents the use of the integral operator formulation approach to wave propagation in uniform hollow conducting waveguides of arbitrary cross-section. Cutoff wavenumbers, wall currents, and modal field distributions are obtained from the considered formulations using the method of moments. Waveguides with simply or multiply connected cross-sections and any shape of boundary including the septums can be accepted, and treatments of septums on both TM and TE modes are discussed. User-oriented computer programs based on the proposed methods are available. Illustrative computation for the circular waveguide are compared to exact solutions to validate the accuracy of the solutions. Examples are also included for the circular with septum, the coaxial cable, and the quadridge waveguide.
