Abstract
This paper describes a CAD system implemented in a French company: Telemecanique for the design of electromagnets for contact apparatus. This system has been operational for three years and deals with the magnetostatic modelling of electromagnets using a finite elements method, the optimisation of the shaded ring for ac supply devices and the dynamic simulation.
