Abstract :
In this letter it is shown that sampling rate conversion¿either interpolation or decimation¿of multidimensional digital signals can be realised merely by the use of one-dimensional filter design techniques. It is then proved that multidimensional rate conversion can be performed on a dimension-by-dimension basis, leading to the establishment of its commutative and associative properties.
