Abstract :
The authors propose an efficient algorithm for detecting synchronisation in a Viterbi decoder. By monitoring the `back-traceability´ between two trellis states with the minimum metric at adjacent time units, over a specified span, the proposed algorithm can efficiently detect synchronisation. Experimental results confirm the efficiency of the proposed algorithm
