Abstract :
A two-level contention resolution scheme that consists of collision blocking (CB) and contention resolution (CR) is proposed for WDM networks with control channels. By having both CB and CR operations, the performance can be improved to be approximately equal to that of the complete CR while avoiding electronic bottleneck.
