Abstract
The authors describe Monte Carlo simulation models which have been developed under EPRI projects RP1534-1, 2 for the reliability analysis generating systems, with explicit recognition of those unit and system operation considerations, rules, and constraints that influence system reliability indices. The results of sample systems using the models are given and compared with results obtained using more conventional models which do not explicitly model the influences of operation considerations. These studies show that explicit modeling of operating considerations can have a very significant effect on computed system reliability indices.<>
