Abstract :
A novel effective method for rigorous analytical solution of two dimensional diffraction problems is presented. Simple analytical expressions and the original equivalent circuit are assumed for the wide class of these problems. For illustration the diffraction of a plane electromagnetic wave by a thick strip grating is considered
