Abstract :
A theoretical analysis is developed for V(z) curves obtained by a nonscanning reflection acoustic microscope system using a line-focus beam which is formed by an acoustic lens with a cylindrical concave surface. Numerical calculations are made for a ZY-sapphire and compared with the experimental results at 179 MHz. From the comparison, it is confirmed that the shape and the dip interval in the V(z) curves can be explained well by the theory developed here.
