  • Abstract
    Natural propagation of electromagnetic waves in rectangular tunnels is analysed using parallel lossy planes approximations with no restrictions on the electrical properties of the walls. The analysis provides a better understanding of the physical characteristics of the low-order modes as a function of frequency. Numerical results are compared satisfactorily with published measurements.
