Abstract
A superconducting magnet system with highly homogeneous and stable field has been developed for high resolution, large format electro-camera research. This magnet system can provide 1.5 T magnetic field. In the central working space of the magnet with a diameter over 100 mm and a length of 100 mm, the homogeneity of the field is better than 5 × 10-4. The system includes a superconducting switch for current trapping and a highly stable magnetic field is obtained. A test in combination with electro-camera has been completed. We have measured a lot of plates obtained with this system. The resolution of these plates is better than 1.5μm. In this paper, the design and construction of the superconducting magnet system are described, some data and experimental results are given.
