Abstract :
An extremely compact (0.3 cm3) 40 Gbit/s optical receiver module has been developed that integrates a waveguide pin-PD and an InGaP-HBT based transimpedance amplifier IC with an ease-of-use receptacle interface and a broadband feedthrough launcher. A wide bandwidth of 37 GHz and the highest ever sensitivity of -11 dBm at 43 Gbit/s have been successfully achieved.
