Reduction of turn-on delay in laser diode optical switch

Abstract :
Switching response time of a semiconductor laser diode (LD) switch is studied. Turn-on delay of the LD switches was reduced to about 1 ns by applying a preshaped gate pulse. Fall time was less than 1 ns.
