Abstract :
A new type of waveguide-array CO2 laser excited by an RF discharge is reported. In this device, laser beams are guided by means of periodic gain regions distributed in lateral space and form a one-dimensional array. Experiments indicate that the 1×10 array laser is perfectly locked in phase. In the far field, both symmetrical and antisymmetrical field distributions have been observed
